Q&A – What are some health tips to know when you are in the begining of a pregnancy?
I am 16 years old and pregnant. I am to scared to tell my parents yet, and I am only about 3 weeks in my pregnancy. If you could please give me some tips to keep my baby healthy I would really appreciate it. I know I will have to go to a doctor soon, but im really scared to tell them right now. Like if I should be wearing loose pants, what i should be eating, how i should sleep, etc. Thank you!

hey im preg and just turned 17 i kno how ya feel im 4 month and still not told my parents
you shouldn’t need meternity clothes just yet! haha, try not to eat prawns no smoking drinking etc just keep ur self healthy
also make sure u get regular sleep and exercise
just eat right dont smoke or drink and you really should tell your parents so you can get proper treatment you need prenatals and blood work to be sure you and the baby is ok..
Sleep on your left side because that takes pressure off and keeps blood flowing. Drink lots of water. Go to the store and buy prenatal vitamins. Rest if you are tired. Eat healthy meals that are small and 6times a day. Good luck.
no loose pants unless they ones you are in are uncomfortable, sleep when you are tired which believe me you will be, posistion doesnt matter . eat ablut 300 calories more than normal, veggies, protein meat etc avoid lots of sugar, soda and caffine.
if you were 3wks u wouldnt know you were pregnant
if yu have had a positive test, you are at least 4week, possibly 5 weeks
always measure your pregnancy from the first day of your last period!
dont drink alcohol, dont smoke.
Get the dad involved
you need to go to the doctors for confirmation, or you wont get antenatal care.
They just do a preg test and feel your belly.
dont bother bout sleeping, sleeping on ya bely is fine until it hurts you.
Wear losser clothes from about 10eeks
Eat a good range of fruit and veg and meat
and take FOLIC ACID, it helps prevent spina bifida.
email me when ever or email me and ask for my msn addy, im online now xxx
You need prenatal care! Go to a clinic ASAP. You need to be taking vitamins, take a reagular multi vitamin even Flinstones untill you see a doctor. Try to start eating healthy. But other than this you really, really need to get prenatal care. I was 16 also when I had my first daughter, while you might be really scared to tell your parents you need to get appropriate medical care. Just tell them and get it over with. Its never as bad as it seems. Good luck take care of yourself.
i dont think it matters if you wear loose pants or not until your showing. oranges are great for you. pretty much any fresh fruit and veggies. lots of grains and lots of water. stay away from caffeine and alcohol (not that i think you drink). peanut butter is good. prunes, ya know, the cool individually wrapped ones. they are much better than i thought they would be. milk or chocolate milk. you really need to start getting on prenatal vitamins. i know its scary to tell your parents but its for the best so you can start going to a doctor. i dont think it really matters at this stage how you sleep. if you feel icky in the mornings keep saltines by your bed and eat a few slowly before you even get up and then get up slowly. hope this helps. and by the way, YES you can know you are pregnant at 3 weeks. i am almost 4 weeks and i knew at almost 3 weeks for sure. ive been getting a lot of that crap too. dont let anyone tell you that you cant know if you are only 3 weeks along.
Hon, you need to go and talk to your mother. Don’t wait any longer. I would be devastated if my daughter didn’t come to me. And you’re going to have to find the strength to do many, many adult things now, so there is no point in waiting.
Please take good care of your health (no junk food, no alcohol, no smoking, no drugs). You need to start taking prenatal vitamins – you can get these at most stores. Get plenty of calcium. You do not need to wear loose pants – that will come in time and you’ll want maternity clothes down the road.
Please, go tell your mom now. Together you can make a plan as to what is in the best interest of your baby, you, and the baby’s father.
